Webinar series on active ageing “Forever Young”
From October, 3 to December 5, 2024, the “Forever Young” webinar series on active aging will be held, which is aimed at the entire citizenry and aims to illustrate how some diseases that affect aging can be delayed. The webinar series consists of 7 morning webinars from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m..
This series of webinars intends to present the European policies for active aging and the EU funding opportunities to support strategic projects to foster active aging policies within Member States and the European THCS partnership, coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Health. This partnership is composed of 63 partners (58 grantees + 7 associated entities) from 26 countries (23 member and associated countries + 3 non-member countries - UK, Switzerland and USA) and works to study harmonized and coordinated solutions for health and care systems in Europe.
The webinar series on active aging “Forever Young” is organised in partnership with the Europe Direct information network: Europe Direct Roma Innovazione, Europe Direct Siena, Europe Direct Trapani Sicilia, Europe Direct Chieti, Europe Direct Provincia di Verona, Europe Direct Venezia Veneto, Europe Direct Emilia-Romagna, Europe Direct Molise.
Europe is ageing, and at the same life expectancy is getting longer, and this is even more true for Italy. The ageing of the population places an increasing economic burden on fewer and fewer younger people. Aiming at active ageing can entail a prolonged productive contribution by older people (in the labour market, in voluntary work, as mentors to young people, etc.) and, at the same time, can help contain spending on social and health services and medicine consumption, with benefits for all parties involved. Active ageing was defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2002 as ‘the process of optimising opportunities for health, participation and security in order to improve the quality of life of ageing people’. Indeed, numerous international studies testify to the positive link between active ageing and the benefits on physical and psychological health, including the perception of a higher quality of life.
Participation is free after registration at the following link => Check out the instructions on how to register to the webinars on Eventi PA
