On Wednesday, May 5, the Celebration of the victory of the Europe Direct call of the City of Venice was held.

=> At 10.00 the President of the City Council, Ermelinda Damiano, visits the headquarters in Mestre, Via Spalti 28.
=> At 11.00 a.m., the round table was held with all the partners of the Venetian network reserved for the institutional bodies of Veneto

Europe Direct is the European information network for citizens, created by the European Commission to raise awareness of the activities and opportunities offered by the European Union and has been active in the City of Venice for more than 20 years.

The Europe Direct Information Centres (also known as EDIC), present in all EU countries with over 400 Centres, are distributed throughout the country and hosted by local public bodies (regions, provinces, metropolitan cities, municipalities), universities, cooperatives, consortia and associations. The City of Venice is one of the selected centres in Italy that give continuity to the European information service to citizens through a special desk that allows citizens, civil society, businesses and institutions to obtain complete information and practical advice, "at hand", on the rights enshrined in European legislation and on the opportunities arising from participation in the European Union.

The City of Venice, as the project leader and host body, has since 1999 the information desk on the European Union, initially called IPE-Info Point Europe, in 2004 renamed Antenna Europe Direct and since 2005 Europe Direct.
Europe Direct Venezia Veneto was awarded three mandates by the European Commission for the selection of structures and partners for the management of the Europe Direct Information Centres for the four-year period 2009-2012, the five-year period 2013-2017 and the three-year period 2018-2020.

The Europe Direct Venezia Veneto office keeps active its Venetian subnetwork composed of 27 institutional partners spread throughout the region:

• Regione del Veneto;
• Province di Belluno, Padova, Rovigo, Treviso e Città metropolitana di Venezia;
• Prefettura di Venezia;
• Unioncamere del Veneto - Eurosportello e Camera di Commercio di Venezia Rovigo;
• Comuni di Adria, Bassano del Grappa, Castelfranco Veneto, Chioggia, Jesolo, Padova, Spinea, Thiene, Treviso, Valdagno, Vicenza e Federazione dei Comuni del Camposampierese.
• Università Iuav di Venezia, Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia,  Esu di Venezia, Venice International University e Ufficio scolastico Regionale per il Veneto;
• EURES - Veneto Lavoro
