Monday, May 10 from 17.00 to 18.30 was held the coffee of Europe entitled "Europe, Venice and the fight against discrimination".

Moderator: Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Direttrice dell'Ufficio di Venezia del Consiglio d'Europa
to a Mirano (VE), has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science in Padua and a master’s degree in Economics in Ca' Foscari. He majored in law in Rome. Assistant at the European Parliament in Brussels for three years and later Head of Secretariat of Minister Fontana for Family and Disability (and then European Policies). Sports enthusiast, president of a youth football club from 2015 to 2019. Current delegations: Community Projects; Porto; Youth Policies; Sport; Civil Protection. He is also commissioner of the provincial executive of the Northern League of Venice.

Maurizio Molinari, Head of the Milan Office of the European Parliament
Education: 2004: Attainment Master’s degree in interpretation and translation of conferences at the University of Bologna. 2006-2008: School of Journalism of Urbino. 2011-2012: Postgraduate diploma in radio and online journalism organized by BBC Radio Merseyside and Liverpool Hope University. He is an expert in communication. He has worked as a freelance journalist for Italian and international media, including BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. Since July 2015 he has been Media Officer of the European Parliament in Italy and since January 2020 he has been responsible for the European Parliament’s Milan Office.

Milena Santerini: National Coordinator for the fight against anti-Semitism, Presidency of the Council
Since 2008 she has been Professor of General Pedagogy at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and since 2010 she has been Director of the Research Centre on Intercultural Relations at the same university. She was a member of the House of Representatives in the 17th Legislature of the Demos-Democratic Centre Group. From 2013 to 2018 she was a member of the Italian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and Rapporteur for the Commission against inequality and discrimination. Member of the Community of Sant'Egidio since 1971 and of the Ecumenism and Dialogue Commission of the Diocese of Milan from 2007 to 2013. She is Vice President of the Milan Holocaust Memorial Foundation and since 2020 she has been National Coordinator for the fight against anti-Semitism at the Council Presidency.

Viktor Elbling: Ambassador of Germany to Rome
He studied law at the University of Bonn and conducted university studies in political science and Romanesque, practicing forensic practice. At the end of his training at the German Diplomatic Institute (1988-1989), he entered the Foreign Ministry in Berlin, where he remained until 1990, when he was assigned to the German embassy in South Korea. From 1993 to 1998 he returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1998 to 1999, Elbling was Deputy Head of Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. From 1999 to 2003, he was assigned to the German embassy in Madrid as head of the economic affairs division. Returning to the Foreign Ministry in Berlin as head of the Division for International Economic and Financial Policy until 2006, he was subsequently in charge of Globalisation, Energy and Climate Policy until 2010, when he became Director-General for Economy and Sustainable Development. From 2014 he was ambassador to Mexico and was appointed ambassador to Italy in September 2018.

Luisella Pavan-Woolfe: Director of the Venice Office of the Council of Europe
Born in Trieste, she graduated in Political Science from the University of Padua. As an official of the European Commission, she has developed new policies and legislation on environmental protection, equal rights for women and men and persons with disabilities. He also managed funds to support vocational training, employment and education in the European Union as a director for the European Social Fund. As the first Equal Opportunities Director to be appointed by the European Commission, she was responsible for the Union’s policy developments in the area of gender equality and the fight against all forms of discrimination. Subsequently, she joined the EU diplomatic service and was the Union’s ambassador to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Since 2015 he has been at the head office of the Italian Council of Europe in Venice.
