13.01.2024 Europe and Democracy

On Saturday 13 January 2024 from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Auditorium Sant'Artemio of the Province of Treviso, the meeting "Europe and Democracy" was held, open to students, associations and citizenship.

On Saturday 13 January, the second meeting of the project "Walking together, building together", a project for and with schools organised by Associazione Partecipare il presente and UAT Treviso under the patronage of the Province of Treviso, partner of the Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice, was held. The meeting was on the European theme, with the introduction of elements of European integration history and the presentation of EU institutions and policies. Examples were given of how the EU affects the lives of its citizens on a daily basis and the relevance of active participation in democratic processes was explained.

The speaker at the conference was Prof. Marco Brunazzo, Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento.

The objectives of the project were to engage in dialogue on the central themes of present living in a path of common growth and to explore different cognitive approaches, co-constructing the moments of public encounter through the valorisation of paths and experiences of civic education and civism that are born and grow within the School and sharing the public moments with those on the way.
There were four schools in the Province of Treviso area involved in the event and the students of a European Parliament Ambassador School were also directly involved.
