16-22.09.2022 European Mobility Week 2022

From the 16th of Septe,ber to the 22nd of September 2022 was held in all Europe the European Mobility Week with the aim to involve the citizens on the road of sustainability and the improvement of the quality of our lives in the city. Every year, in fact, in the week designated by the European Union, tons of cities and tons of european citizens celebrate sustainable mobility and they send a message of change and to improve our lifestyles.

For the 2022 edition the European Commission has decided to underline the importance of a better synergy to improve the understanding how to get to a more sustainable mobility and to promote a change in lifestyles in favor of a more active mobility, in fact, this year slogan is: BETTER CONNECTIONS, CHANGE AND GO!

The City of Venice has also participated in the European Sustainable Mobility Week 2022 with a rich programme of initiatives from 16 to 18 September 2022 GO TO THE GENERAL PROGRAMME IN VENICE

FIAB - Federazione Italiana Ambiente e Biciclette in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto promoted the cycling as a universal language to guide this change and as an answer to the new energetic and environmental challenges and as a mobility, so this is why we say "CHANGE style, RIDE a bike!"

Choosing the bicycle as a mean of transport means to change in better our way of transportation and to use the spaces we live in fully.

#CHOOSETHEBIKE to guide the transition towards a new mobility which is healthier and safer, more respectful of the environment and our territories. With a more careful planning of a more equal mobility system wich preannounce a massive presence of bikes and pedestrians.

For this reason it was important that the events in the EMW 2022 told the general benefits of the increase of the number of bikes in the streets. Cities more available for the citizens, safer streets and a better system of the infrastructures which are more sustainable in time and for the rights of every citizen of the city.

Even the CIty of Venice have adheered at the initietive with a series of events from the 16th to the 22nd of September 2022, organized in collaboration with the partner of the Veneto region. For the City of Venice have partecipated Area Mobility and Transport and the service Europe Direct Venezia Veneto which aim to share the European Green Deal. In particular the servize Europe Direct Venezia Veneto have organized an event divided in two days.
