Brexit 2020

On 29th March 2017 the United Kingdon notified to the European Council its intention to leave the European Union, in accordance with article 50 of the Euroepan Union Treaty. The task force of the European Commission for the relationships with the United Kingdom (UKTF) is coordinating all the tasks in the fields of strategic, operative, judicial and financial issues linked to UK withdrawal and to its future relationships with the European Union. Michel Bernier is the director of this task force.

The exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union took place on 31st January 2020 at 24.00 (Italian time).

The United Kingdom is currently renegotiating its relations to the European Union as a thrid party State.
