Cycle of meetings "CAFE' EUROPE", lucky format of the European Parliament - Info office Milan - conversation with the citizens.

Monday 16th of May from 4pm at the Venice Gardens Foundations, San Marco, Venice it was held the meeting Cafè Europe with the title "Europe and Women".

Fabrizio Spada, Head of institutional relations at the European Parliament Office in Italy
Laura Ambrosino, Head of media & communication of the Representation in Milan of the European Commission
Patrizia Marcuzzo, Anti-Violence Center of the Municipality of Venice
Adele Re Rebaudengo, President of Venice Gardens Foundation
Moderator: Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Director of the Venice Office of the Council of Europe

The meeting "Europe and Women" focuses on women's rights and the importance of gender equality. In this regard, the importance of the Instambul Convention, Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year and which Italy ratified in June 2013.

The strategy the EU for gender equality delivers on the von der Leyen Commission's commitment to a Union of Equality. The strategy presents strategic goals and actions to make significant progress by 2025 toward a gender-equal Europe.

The Europe Direct Venezia Veneto collaborate with the Venice Gardens Foundation for the creation of the "Europe and Women" café at the Royal Gardens area. The Foundation was established in Venice in 2014 with the aim of protecting and preserving Venice's green areas and historical and cultural heritage, promoting projects to safeguard the nature of the area.
