EUROPEAN BENCH IN VENICE 

==> Event inserted in the EU Celebration Day in Venice 2022 

In Venice the the field of the initiative of the EU Celebration Day 2022 and in occasion of the European Year of the Youth 2022, the presidency of the Communal Council of the City of Venice with the office of Europe Direct Venezia Veneto in collaboration with the European Federalist Youth of Venice promoted the creation of a European Bench in Venice, at the Albanese Park in Mestre, green space for citizenship and especially young people, to celebrate the values of the European Union and to bring its symbols to Italian cities through a territorial redevelopment operation and citizen engagement on European issues.

The initiative is inserted in the calendar of the EU Celebration Day in Venice 2022 and it was presented by the youth of the European Federalist Youth of Venice in occasion of the meeting between high schools of the veneto region which have partecipated to the EPAS project - European Parliament Ambassador School, rewarded Tuesday 17th of May 2022 at the Candiani Cultural Center of Mestre (see the RECORDING of the presentation).

The initiative was launched in the summer of 2021 by the "European Benches in Every City" committee, which to date has had more than 30 benches made throughout Italy. The project is free as it is financed by the fundraiser, which has the name of the committee itself, created on GoFundMe by a group of volunteers from the European Federalist Youth of Lecco following the defacement with Neo-Nazi Symbols of a European bench made in their city.
