15.06.2022 Conference on the future of Europe- General States Roma

It was discussed the result of the Conference on the Future of Europe which ended the 9th of May 2022 and the contribution Italy gave on the the good result of the Conference. In the event intervened young people which have partecipated actively at the meetings on the Conference which have been done all over Italy during its opening i)th of may 2021, sharing the suggestions and the proposals which emerged from their own cities. 

It partecipated a delegation from Venice with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto. 

The last 9th of May the Executive Committee of the Conference on the Future of Europe delivered the final report to the Presidents of the Commission, Parliament and Council concluding the work of an unprecedented exercise in participatory democracy, exactly one year after the inauguration of the Conference itself. Italy actively participated in the activities, so much so that it was among the first member states in terms of volume of contributions entered on the multilingual digital platform.

This result was achieved thanks to the contribution of institutions, universities, Europe Directs, citizens and numerous associations that animated the discussion during the activities fielded by the Government, whose work is summarized in a Final Report that will be distributed during the "States General of the Conference on the Future of Europe." 

The purpose of the meeting was to symbolically illustrate the outcomes of the debate to all those who participated in the Government's activities, but also to listen to the protagonists of the many initiatives promoted during these months that contributed to the presentation of ideas and proposals for the Conference.

The event was divided into three sessions. The first began with institutional greetings from political authorities and speeches, all in attendance, by Minister Di Maio, Undersecretary Amendola, EU Commission Vice President Šuica, President Tajani, French Ambassador Masset, and Mayor of Roma Capitale Gualtieri. Followed the second and third session dedicated to the illustration on the result of the Conference on the Future of Europe with the intervention of citizen ambassador, university students, representative of the civil society and the association involved in numerous initiatives.
