On Sunday, April 30 in Corso del Popolo in Chioggia from 10 a.m. to 12.00, an information gazebo on the European Union could be visited.
The initiative, a side event of the "Horizons" review, was organized in collaboration with the Municipal Department of Community Policies of the Municipality of Chioggia and Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the City of Venice.
The event was a time to acquaint citizens with the work of the European Union, the institutions that make it up, its role and the opportunities arising from the process of EU integration. All this with an eye on the younger generations, the real resource of a united Europe.

On Thursday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Aula Magna of Palazzo Grassi (Fondamenta Canal Vena 1282) the book "Una democrazia possibile" (ed. Carocci) by professor Marco Almagisti was presented. The author, a professor of Political Science at the University of Padua and a columnist for the newspaper "Domani," addressed in the volume the evolution of Italian politics in the 20th century: the birth of mass parties, the experience of the First Republic, Sixty-Eight and the "Years of Lead," the advent of the Second Republic, bipolarism and populist drifts.
An essential text for understanding the socio-political changes in our country. Professor Almagisti during the meeting was interviewed by Enrico Veronese, journalist for "Il Foglio."

Instead, on Friday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Aula Magna of Palazzo Grassi (Fondamenta Canal Vena 1282), the book "La diplomzia del terrore" (ed. Laterza) by Prof. Valentine Lomellini was presented.
The author, professor of History of International Relations at the University of Padua, addressed in the volume the difficult relationship, between 1967 and 1989, between European countries and international Arab-Palestinian terrorism.
A relationship, that between European countries and Arab terrorism, marked by ambivalent attitudes: a willingness to counter the armed struggle and prosecute the perpetrators of the attacks, but at the same time silences, condescension and a desire to find some sort of balance with the terrorist organizations.
Lomellini's work was named by "Corriere della Sera" as the best book on the History of International Relations released in 2023. Prof. Lomellini was interviewed by journalist Alessandra Lionello.

During the two meetings it was possible to purchase the volumes thanks to the cooperation of "Il Leggio" bookstore in Sottomarina.
