Program Activities for Schools in Veneto s.y.2023-2024

Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice, an Information Service of the European Commission which operates on the Venetian territory to raise knowledge and debate about European topics, especially among young people and schools, offers, for free, an activity program for schools in Veneto for the school year 2023-2024 made of 8 proposals to teachers and students of the Venetian territory divided into secondary schools of first grade and second grade. 
Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice has a partnership with the Venetian  MIM - USR  Regional School Office for Veneto which vehicles this activity program. 
The proposals are eventually available in online didactic modality, if necessary.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSES
PROPOSAL 1 for the classes 
Recreational-learning Module “Europe comes to class", to explain the European Union, to discover the customs and traditions of the 27 member States and to get to know the fundamentals of the European citizenship. 
=> At the middle schools of the Municipality of Venice, January-April 2024 (the date must be co-decided with the schools - the meeting can also be online).
The Module is inserted among the Educational Itineraries of the Municipality of Venice.

HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES 
PROPOSAL 2 for the classes
Meeting cycle "In European School", lessons to explain Italian and European citizenship  (history, institutions, citizenship and mobility) to young generations by trained staff.
=> At high schools of Veneto, January-March 2024 (the date must be co-decided with the schools - the meeting can be held also online). 
The Module is inserted among the Educational Itineraries of the Municipality of Venice.

PROPOSAL 3 for the classes 
Contest "Let's Become European Citizens" 2023-2024 individual or written by the whole class with a written paper or with a graphic production in cooperation with MFE (Federal European Movement). Prize: vacation stay and European training in Nocera Umbra in summer 2024. 
=> Request: by mail by April 15th 2024.
=> Awards: Mestre, Candiani Cultural Centre, May 2024, inserted in the European Festival in Venice.

PROPOSAL 4 for the classes 
Conference-debate "Europe for the Young" and contest awards "Let's Become European Citizens" in cooperation with the MFE, Federalist European Movement, on the occasion of the European Festival See details conference-awards 2023. 
=>Awards: Mestre, Candiani Cultural Centre, May 2024, inserted in the European Festival in Venice.

PROPOSAL 5 for the classes 
Educational exhibition "The Mothers and Fathers Founders of the European Union", exhibition of 22 bilingual Italian-English freestanding panels about the visionary leaders (women and men) who inspired the creation of the European Union. Installation, opening and disinstallation by Europe Direct. See details about the 2023 edition
=> At the Venetian high schools, January-May 2024 (timeline of 2-3 weeks to codecide with the schools).

PROPOSAL 6 for the classes 
Online Educational Module "Degree in Pocket", virtual lesson about transnational educational mobility with studying opportunities and work abroad for high school and university students about orientation abroad after the degree.

PROPOSAL 7 for teachers and students 
Educational-Information Module of European Civic Education "Meeting Cycle about the European Union" October-November 2023, whose aim is to give a basic education to teachers, students, and to the whole citizenship. The course is inserted in the academical year program of the Università Popolare di Mestre, which consists in lessons attendable even singularly. 
The module includes also a study-visit in May 2024 to the M9 - Museo del '900 in Mestre (Venice): the access to the museum is free and the visit is guided with a thematic European itineray.
=> for the teachers of every order and degree of Veneto.

Webinar Cycle “Yes, we can (no can/cer): European Plan of Fight against Cancer. Focus on Breast and Lung" September-December 2023, whose goal is to make the “European Plan of Fight against Cancer” known and the challenge of the EU to contrast this illness and to promote a true European health Policy with the aim of protecting citizens' health more effectively and, therefore, being safer and more resilient.  
=> for the teachers of every order and degree of Veneto and for the students of high school in Veneto.
