28-29.11.2023 Artemisia Creator of Myself - Journey between Violence and Freedom

On Nov. 28 and 29, 2023, the performance "Artemisia artificer of myself- journey between violence and freedom" was held in celebration in Venice of the November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
Free admission while seats last with responsible offering.

Proceeds from the two performances are donated to Associazione Amici di Casa Famiglia onlus and Istituto casa Famigliia San Pio X.

The performance was born from the intention to highlight the extraordinary painting skills of Artemisia Gentileschi through a double dramaturgy aimed at highlighting the extremely relevant and current topic of gender violence. The aim was to show the way in which women process and manage to overcome the violence they have suffered through the healing refuge of art, making it clear how gender violence is a phenomenon that affects both men and women, young and old, indiscriminately and closely. The project also aims to address the younger generation to raise awareness about this issue and convey values of respect for others and oneself.

It was a show of great importance both for the issues it dealt with and for the personalities who expressed their willingness to participate in it such as Congresswoman Martina Semenzato, chairwoman of the parliamentary commission of inquiry on feminicide, as well as on all forms of gender-based violence, Maria Cristina Gribaudi, President Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Paola Scarpa director of the Anti-Violence Center of the Metropolitan City of Venice and the Fondazione Archivio Cini in the figure of Prince Giovanni Alliata di Montereale.
