They are reflections like those jotted down in a personal diary, memories, observations and hopes. The exhibition is divided into three moments: struggle, hope and consequences. Each illustrates the new reality and how people have adapted their lives to the war, the struggle for existence in the country, the traumatic experiences and the hope that motivates people to continue living.

The exhibited works are by the following artists: Lyubov Durakova, Kateryna Aleksieienko, Alena Grom, Gera Artemova, Mykhailo Palinchak, Elena Subach, and Volodymyr Petrov.

Odesa Photo Days is an international contemporary photography festival and educational platform based in Ukraine. The eighth edition of the festival was supposed to take place in Odesa from May 19 to 22, 2022, but was canceled due to the large-scale war started by Russia against Ukraine. Since then the festival team has been working to spread the word about the situation in Ukraine and support Ukrainian documentary photographers and photography artists affected by the war. During the first year the joint efforts of the Odesa Photo Days Festival and its international partners resulted in more than 30 publications in print and online, 24 exhibitions and more than 15 online conferences and presentations.

On Monday 24 June 2024, a special opening of the exhibition was held on the occasion of the visit of a delegation from the Ukrainian Community in Venice and the Oberig Association.
