Who we areThe Venice Library Network (RBV) is a cooperation network of 26 libraries in the territory of the Municipality of Venice, of different types, whose goal is the sharing of resources and documents, in order to guarantee all citizens the right to access freely to culture and information.
Libraries, in different ways, provide books, e-books, audio and video material, sections dedicated to children and young people, bibliographic information services, reading promotional activities, spaces for reading and studying.
The total heritage is about 400,000 documents, searchable through the online catalogue Bimetrove.
Services
The libraries of the network offer, in relation to their typological and instrumental characteristics, the services of:

Access to the library is free upon registration.
Register to the Venice Library Network (Rete Biblioteche Venezia)
To take advantage of the lending and other library services, is required the registration in the Venice Library Network, which can be done in any library on the Network. All Italian and foreign citizens legally residing and in possession of one of the following requirements can register:

be resident or domiciled in the Veneto Region, even temporarily (for a period of at least 30 days);

carry out study and / or working activities in the Municipality of Venice;

be Entities, Institutes, Associations based in the regional territory, upon request of the institutional representative or his delegate.
How do I sign up?
From home:

In the library:

bring a valid identity document with you;

sign the registration form the librarian will give you, you can bring it

already filled out by downloading it from this page in “Documenti allegati” ;

if you are under 15 you can go to the library with a parent / guardian to sign the registration form or bring it to the library filled in, signed with a photocopy of the parent / guardian's identity document (you can download the form from this page in “Documenti allegati”).
