Activity programme for schools in Veneto - school year 2024-2025

Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice, the European Commission's Information Service operating in the Veneto region to increase knowledge and debate on European issues, especially among young people and schools, offers a free Activity Programme for schools in Veneto for the school year 2024/2025 consisting of no. 7 proposals addressed to teachers and students in the Veneto region, divided between first and second grade secondary schools.

Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice has the MIM - USR Ufficio Scolastico Regionale per il Veneto as its Veneto partner, which is conveying this programme of activities.
Proposals are available in distance learning mode if necessary.

SECONDARY SCHOOL CLASSES
PROPOSAL 1 for classes

Playful-didactic module "Europe enters the classroom", to explain the European Union, to discover the different habits and customs of the 27 member countries and to learn the basics of European citizenship.
=> At the secondary schools of the Municipality of Venice, January-April 2025 (date to be agreed with the schools - (meeting also possible online)
Module included in the Educational Itineraries of the Municipality of Venice

PROPOSAL 2 for classes

Cycle of meetings "At school in Europe"
, lessons to explain Italian and European citizenship (history, institutions, citizenship and mobility) to the younger generations by specialised personnel.
=> At secondary schools in the Veneto region, January-March 2025 (date to be agreed with the schools - meeting also possible online)
Module included in the Educational Itineraries of the Municipality of Venice

PROPOSAL 3 for classes
Competition "Let's become European citizens" 2024-2025
individual or class with written essay or graphic production in cooperation with the MFE Movimento Federalista Europeo (prize: holiday and Europeanist training stay in Nocera Umbra from 21 to 27 July 2025).
=> Application: via email by 15 April 2025
=> Award ceremony: Mestre, venue Centro Culturale Candiani, May 2025 as part of the Europe Day Celebration in Venice

Conference-debate "Europe for young people" and award ceremony for the competition "Let's become European citizens"
in cooperation with the MFE Movimento Federalista Europeo on the occasion of Europe Day. See details conference-award ceremony 2024

PROPOSAL 5 for classes
Educational exhibition "The Founding Mothers and Fathers of the European Union"
exhibition of 22 free-standing bilingual Italian-English panels on the visionary leaders (women and men) who inspired the creation of the European Union. Installation, opening and dismantling by Europe Direct. See details of the 2024 edition

Virtual educational module "Diploma in your pocket"
, virtual lesson on transnational educational mobility with study and work opportunities abroad for high school and university students on post-diploma orientation abroad.

PROPOSAL 7 for teachers
European civic education training-informative module "Lessons of Europe - webinar cycle"
, whose objective is to provide basic training on European issues to teachers, students and the general public.
The module also includes a study visit in May 2025 to M9 - Museo del ‘900 in Mestre-Venice: free access to the museum and a guided tour with a European thematic itinerary.
