SYNOPSIS
The 2015 film, directed by Simon Curtis, tells the story of Maria Altmann and her long and difficult legal battle to recover the paintings that were stolen from her family by the Nazis. Through a series of flashbacks, it recalls the Anschluss, the arrival of Nazi forces in Vienna and the Nazis' looting of Jewish families. After the discovery of an earlier battle to recover works of art, in particular the portrait of her aunt Adele Bloch-Bauer also known as ‘the Woman in Gold’, Maria decides to ask for help from the lawyer E. Randol Schoenberg, the son of a close friend of hers, to file a claim for the return of the artwork.

The event is by reservation only and is free of charge while places last. Booking link: https://forms.gle/Pay6BDQwfzbB2YZJAMERCOLED%CC
