18-20.06.2024 - Summer School – Hey EU! Connecting European Union to Youth
From 18 to 20 june 2024 was held the second edition of the Summer School “Hey EU! Connecting European Union to Youth", aimed at high school students dedicated to European citizenship, with the aim of bringing young people closer to the Union and its institutions.
The initiative was promoted by Progetto Giovani and Europe Direct Padova, in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto, the Department of Political, Legal and International Studies Sciences, the School of Law and the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies of the University of Padua.
Participation was free, but registration was required through the online form by Sunday June 9th. Attendance at the Summer School cannot be less than 80% of the total number of hours.
The contents:
The central theme of the three days of training was European citizenship, to promote a more complete democratic awareness and participation among young people. It intended to inform participants on the strategic priorities implemented by the European Union in the fields of citizenship, common defense, ecological and digital transition, through the presentation of European policies and practices on a national and local scale.
Classroom training activities were held, with teachers and researchers from the University of Padua and interactive workshops, based on non-formal learning methods. Furthermore, convivial moments and informal exchange are planned to facilitate the formation of the group.

The Summer School can be entirely included in the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO). The total number of hours is 25 hours. For the recognition of the Summer School as a PCTO activity, Progetto Giovani can enter into an agreement ex ante with the institutes involved, or certify the students' attendance ex post, so that the supplementary activities are recognized by the Schools as free and concurrent with the achievement of credits.
The Institutes interested in activating the agreement, even for a single student, can send their request via email to the address progettogiovani.scuola@comune.padova.it, by Monday 3 June.
