Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice organises 4 events to create awareness on the topic and on what has been done, is being done and still can be done to combat violence against women.

Events:

• Wednesday, November, 20 2024, meeting ‘Twenty years of the magazine Deportate Esuli Profughe’ with the presentation of the project to open a help desk of the women's shelter of the Municipality of Venice at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. The event will be held from 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. in Venice at the Aula Baratto of Ca' Foscari University in Venice (Dorsoduro 3246). SEE DETAILS
• Wednesday, November, 20 2024, meeting ‘Against violence’ presentation of the books: ‘Mai più sole contro la violenza sessuale. Una pagina storica del femminismo degli anni Settanta’ by Nadia Filippini (Viella 2022) and ’L'autodifesa delle donne. Pratiche, diritto, immaginari nella storia’ edited by Simona Feci and Laura Schettini (Viella 2024). The presentation will be held from 4.30 to 6.30 p.m. in Venice at the Aula Baratto of Ca' Foscari University in Venice (Dorsoduro 3246). SEE DETAILS
• On Sunday, November, 24 2024, artistic performance ‘A Human Wave Against Gender Violence’, created by the artist Elena Tagliapietra, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the women's shelter of the Municipality of Venice. The event takes place from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in Campo Santa Maria Formosa in Venice. The performance aims to involve the citizenship in the creation of a living work of art and launch a powerful message of resistance and solidarity. SEE DETAILS
• On Monday November, 25 2024, conference ‘Women's Time. A time for all‘ from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Aula Baratto of Ca' Foscari University in Venice (Dorsoduro 3246). Thie conference will be followed at 3.00 p.m. by the Inauguration Ceremony of the Red Bench at the Economic Campus in San Giobbe (Cannaregio 810). SEE DETAILS 
• On Friday, 29 and Saturday November, 30 2024, cultural workshop and performance ‘The Thread of Women ovvero Ghe a gavemo fatta’. The cultural workshop, reserved for women in detention, takes place on Friday November, 29 2024 at 5.00 p.m. inside the Giudecca women's prison . The ‘work in progress’ performance takes place on Saturday, November, 30 at 5.00 p.m. in the Arte-Mide headquarters in Dorsoduro. SEE DETAILS
