Marriage publications

The publication of the marriage must be requested from the Civil Registrar of the municipality where one of the spouses resides and is made in the municipality of residence of the bride and groom.

 For whom is it intended?

For all citizens of legal age who are unmarried and who wish to marry.

 What to do

The request must be made by both spouses or by a person specially instructed by them:

It is necessary to make an appointment by filling in the form on the page:

Submit the following documents to the Civil Registry Office:

  • valid identification documents.

  • request for publication by the parish priest or minister of religion for a marriage by a religious rite valid for civil purposes. 

  • €16.00 revenue stamp (if one of the bride and groom is not resident in the Municipality of Venice, two revenue stamps are required). 

In the case of a civil marriage in another municipality, it is necessary to complete the request for the issue of a proxy for the ceremony. 

How much does it cost? 

The only cost to be borne by the user is for revenue stamps €16,00 (if one of the bride and groom is not resident in the Municipality of Venice, two revenue stamps are required).

Quality standards

The time interval from the end of publication to the issue of the certificate of publication/no impediment to the Parish Priest/authorisation to the Minister of Worship is from the 4th day after the last day of publication.
